Offensive Spell Balance

Is it just me, or is the best offensive spell Flashfire? Every other spell seems to take too much mana to use it for general dungeoneering.

I'm going to be looking into trying to make Earthstrike a more viable upgrade from flashfire for higher levels.

i might be wrong, but im pretty sure EarthStrike causes yourself damage. personally, i only use flashfire cause of that.
