A feature that lets you upgrade weapons (bronze to iron to steel to mithril to adamanium etc) with exponential gold co$t would be very neat

Close blockland and open your cache.db database and then switch to the 'execute sql' tab

Press the little play button above the box to execute the query. Below you should get something like this:

If you get that, go ahead and press "write changes" and close the database. This should hopefully fix the issue for you.


Barring that more technical fix, you can simply delete your cache.db file and let everything redownload. I offer the above fix so that you don't have to dump potentially years worth of cache data that helps you load servers quickly.

Edit: I deleted cache.db, logged onto the server, and all of my items were deleted as a result of the crash. Every single one, not just all but my 2nd most valuable item. Why are items deleted as a form of punishment for disconnecting from the server outside of town? To prevent players fleecing out of PvP? Imo, that is so uncommon it doesn't even merit such a mechanic - most of the time it's players crashing anyways.

I love the server, but that mechanic discourages players from leaving the town for fear of a (Mis) or datablock error forcing a crash and losing everything. I've heard them say as much.

This is not an intentional mechanic and is actually a bug I am looking into today. You're one of many people affected.

edit: I restored your backup, it was unfortunately a pretty old backup but it is better than nothing.

That's actually fine. I can make up the XP or whatever else, but items are harder to come by.

Oh thank god, Im always afraid to play on my main PC because it hard crashes (old peice of shit) and I am always fearful of losing a bunch of gold and XP whenever I go into the dungeons
This on top of the crashes the average player experiences as well

I've just checked whether or not killing an "Oranger" would grant PKer status, it still granted me PKer status despite patch notes...
I think I've gone too far down the rabbit hole, but I'd like for you to check into the problem so no one else befalls the same fate as I.

Guards
-Revert guards ai to previous version and slow them down
-put guards at the corners around spawn and on top buildings to prevent pkers fromwatch9ng people leave
-increase time a bit since buildings are bigger
-decrease dam age a bit

Weapons / spells/ armor
-buff bows a bit since most people say they suck
-pkers armor (tbh idk what buffs would be balanced)
-bounty hunter sword (requires killing a pker but make it be offered to players) but it grants more exp from bug kills ( removes gold drops tho)
-pker sword( .5 x more exp from killing players ) requires -50 chaotic to get works like gram without cries
- remove greater heal ally from shop
- Slightly buff firestrike / give it a war and peace style burn
- Nerf sunburst and/or increase its rarity
- Allow spells to be cast with poison

Pking low levels
-increase killing range to 15
-players 15 levels under lose no exp or items, just gold (which makes it pointless to kill them)
-if level 15 attacks a pker first make sure the pker doesn’t get punished for self defense.

Curses
- make some curses removable by completing challenges ie; monsters slain/bosses or alters found.


Prices
-increase prices a bit more on higher tear loot

-add player chests to spider and troll

i actually agree that the pk changes are too harsh except this:

you, impanda and your copycats would literally sit on top of spawn and murder level 5s or as they tried to leave unless they used the orb. the guards exist now to tell you to fuck off. personally the orb already fixes that problem, but new players don't know that and were the majority of players that i saw dying because they didn't think to use it.
that guard AI change is absolutely necessary. even if you put some around corners, the goal is to tell you to fuck off.

everything else sucks. i dislike the punishment for killing people too low a level than you entirely, including the bot sunbursting. low levels already will preserve nearly everything important to them the moment they get pked and the punishments for dying have already been scaled back a ton. its at the point to where you get things like Gram where pking becomes a major bitch, as if you die you'll lose something you worked hours for and have a permanent punishment attached (dying with Gram only gives 150 back, compared to the 350 he steals). means you have to be extra careful when you see pkers, especially when they inevitably have morons worshiping them and bodyblocking for them.
pking is part of what makes the game fun and seeing it punished this harshly sucks. the spoils of slaughtering a level 1 will be paltry as he doesn't have anything to lose to begin with. yet for whatever reason, killing one results in you losing a ton of max HP + max mana, getting cursed, and sunbursted.
the problem entirely was pkers hiding in spawn and jumping at people, basically meaning you used the orb or a pker much higher level than you would guaranteed jump you.

i suggested this in the discord, but it would be better if player killers spawned in their own town. said town could have hiked prices, no guards at all, or even potentially no orb. this basically means that if a pker ever recalls or dies, they now are stuck in that town until they get their alignment off of chaotic. if there's no orb then that creates the ultimate situation of irony, as now the most convenient places where pkers can rampjump and attack people is towards other pkers.
or you could preserve the orb because you think it's too harsh, after all prices are still hiked. or you could even give them a specialized orb which sends them in close to another player (perhaps even check to put them around their same level), which i think would help out pkers when all they really want to do is get into pvp fights.
overall this sounds better to me than having a bot randomly blow you up with sunburst and accomplishes the same goal as the guards: stop people from hiding in town and pking noobs who don't use the orb. it also somewhat fixes the goal of that one guy who heals the pkers in combat or bodyblocks for them as those guys will now be separated.
i dunno why pkers are so vilified and punished when its a thing the game is designed for deliberately.
